We all are sometimes overwhelmed with a deep sense of satisfaction that could have resulted, in a fulfilled expectation in our lives. The feeling is mostly so pure and looking back at what the odds were set out for us to achieve the "thing", it felt really not achievable.
In those "pure" moments, our hearts explode with so much joy, we dance within our hearts and even marvel at the moments, with our heads lifted high, knowing we can achieve much much more. This my friend is a "Heart of gratitude".
Our Father of lights (God), is so much pleased when He sees us, so very happy. He absolutely beams with Joy, knowing we are as contented in the moment of our "achievements"
But, Pause, when this moments slip us and we go back to our "norm", when nothing is no longer blissful, and is definitely not satisfying, when all we do still does not become a success, should we not be grateful though?
I mean, I get that a lot, and you do too, that when its not working we slack, and we are not at all "grateful". Let's lift our "broken heart" a little, by looking back at those things we thought we could not achieve, but somehow over the course of time we achieved them.
Me, for example, have had so many disappointing incidences in my life, things I never thought were somehow possible. Even getting a job after campus, felt like something I would never achieve. Getting my first Job then later quitting, I also felt I would not get the next. Interestingly though it all worked out.
Matthew 6; 28-30, speaks of how God takes good care of lilies of the field and in verse 26 of the same chapter, he also shows his great care to the fowls of the air, of how they do not work yet he keeps providing for them. I mean, how much more of His son and daughter created in His image and likeness.
So what's the point of this piece? Because anyway we will always have high and low moments? I mean that is defined as life? too much questions, and am here not to promise any quick fix answers.
We can be filled with gratitude, even in our lows, when our happiness is not pegged on the "moments" of "good success", but rather when its pegged on God. He is our moment and our good success, whether we do achieve or not.
He is a God of Psalms 139:5, he has enclosed us behind and before. and thus we have peace knowing we should be always grateful in Him.
I pray that we may all be filled with a heart of gratitude, because we have found peace in Him (God).
